The Utah Series
The Spring Between Trapezes Series
The Circular Series (Inspired by a Hiroshige "View of Edo") This series was initially inspired by the composition of Hiroshige's one print from "100 Views of Edo" with a half circle dominating the format titled, "The Suijin Temple Grove, Uchikawa, and the Village of Sekiya." The work was seen on display at LACMA in Jan. 2016. The series ties together various viewpoints of space with an underlying lunar influence and notions of our understanding of space, both internal and external.
The Horizon Series
The Leaves Series The Leaves Series are hopeful, energetic, gestural abstractions of leaves and branches and symbolize the notion of moving through a cluttered space to one of clarity, hope, lightness and love. The build up of layers parallels the spiritual process of working inward to find peace and stability. The layers can be dark and heavy, light and airy, fast or slow. Each piece in this series carries a slightly different mood with the same structural premise.
Small Collage Sketches (Tied to the Horizon Series) Collage series inspired by a mash up of landscape photographs from my experiences in Australia, Costa Rica, Lithuania, Wisconsin, and my home town of Chicago along with paintings on paper dissected and reconfigured.
